Stuff that normally works in the same exact spots, with the same exact setups/weather/time, etc., suddenly don't work the same (if at all) in tournaments/competitions. I will agree that fish spawns/bites do seem strangely different in tourneys, and always feels a bit.artificial and game-y because of it. When you practised for this comp, did you make sure you actually practised in the same hours and weather conditions as the comp was going to be at? Because if you didnt, I would bet my money on that you practisded on a sunny day and that the comp was held on a cloudy, and that will be the explanation to why you didnt catch the same in comp as in practise. While if it is cloudy you will most likley catch only walleyes.įor me in personal I havel lost a lot of points in this comp just because I havent figured out a good way to play the comp on cloudy, which makes me only play it on sunny. When it comes to the trout comp in MI (as you mention) I've found out that on sunny days you can catch the brook and brown really easy using for example "minnows" on the brook and med spoon/crank for the brown, and you will catch 99% only those on that. What many have done instead (for example me) is playing just that comp over and over again, to find out what works for just that exact comp with time and weather. In many comps the time and weather is off compared to the spread sheet. Just one question, has it ever occured to you that the spread sheet that exist is built from players (who just like you) spent hour after hour after hour to search for what times, weather, location and lure/baits are working best?Īnd for your information, when it comes to competitions it's not allways the spread sheet is working. You tube will show you all you need to check box the hell out your code. That's great if you want a check box simulator with the occasional fish.
